Can this gate be attached to the walls so it does not slide forward or back & is there an extension available?

The gate would be placed above stairs so I want to secure to the walls - does the gate include holes/hardware to attach ends to a wall?
2) Is there any way to make the gate wider?
I do not think that this gate could be secured to the walls easily
