Surprisingly Good

It heats more than all other outdoor infrareds. I read all the reviews about this product. They were not too great. However I really wanted an easy assembly unit with a remote control. So far, this is the only outdoor heater I could find w/ remote. I knew I could easily return it. The heater is exceptional! It is very light so it is portable. The base is light, however it has a safety shut-off feature in case it tilts- the unit shuts off immediately. Another impressive safety feature is the grill does not heat up, which pretty incredible. I would recommend it to everyone. I think everyone has different needs and perspective. It is important how you evaluate the product.
Pros: Quality, Durability, remote, light to move around

Great addition

We Purchased the Infared Heater with expectations for extending our patio entertaining time throughout the year. We read the other reviews and were a bit concerned however understanding all opinions are personal and do not always apply to everyone. Our covered patio is 1000 sq feet and we are using the heater primarily for the dining table that seats 6. So far in temps outside at 60 degrees this product does all that it says. As you can mount it either on the wall or use the stand we will use the stand for the time being. Perfect hight so that people don’t bump into it, we have tilted the infared down to the lowest angle and had to keep the temp on the lowest setting as it does heat nicely. We also purchased the cover which I feel was a must.
We are very happy with our purchase!
Pros: Quality, Appearance, Durability, having the remote is nice, easy to assemble

It works okay

I live in coastal California, so our nights are cool but not cold. The heater works okay, and people gather around it. It would be better if the base were heavier so you don't have to drill holes in your deck to keep it from falling over in the wind. I would also like to see it have twice the power it has...it would make it more useful. Given that they don't put out lots of heat, I'm ordering two more to use around the outdoor dining area, as I do like the quiet and no fumes compared to the gas patio heater I have.

It barely puts out any heat, I bought two of them and had to return both. They were absolutely ineffective, they provided no noticeable heat beyond 12" - 16".

I found the product to be easy to assemble and attractive on my porch. I really like the finish (no fingerprinting) and the rounded edges on the top heating unit. The four legged stand is sturdy and light weight enough to move. The remote control heating feature is very handy and we only have used the highest setting. The unit warms a seating area for four people nicely and creates an environment that encourages you to sit outside when you would otherwise be inside. I much prefer a plug to a large bulky propane tank that requires time to refill.
Pros: Appearance, Quality

Portable infra-red patio heatrer

Works as promised. Easy to assemble. It does NOT work well in the wind or a breezy area but if you are in a fenced in patio or porch area, it is perfect. It is light weight & can be secured with the provided screws to a wood deck if needed. The heater unit can also be attached to a celing or wall or the top of a door jam for a more permanent look. I was disappointed when I tried to order "on line". The Frontgate web shopping cart would not allow me to use my $50 promotional "gift certificate" for any purchases..

Item IS NOT PORTABLE

,

The item arrived with instructions to secure the four plastic feet to the flooring surface. Again in the caution and safety notes it states "this item must be screwed to the flooring". In no way is the item portable. If the feet are not attached the weight of the large heater head and light weight plastic feet would make it a great safety issue.
Another heater with a 45 pound base on wheels for the same price is available and and the exchange and return process was painless as usual.
Cons: not portable

Big but Hot

This infrared heater turned out to be much bigger and bulkier than I had expected. Obviously manufactured in Turkey (of all places), it came with multilingual assembly instructions: the English version was so poorly translated from Turkish (?) as to be hilariously difficult to follow. The operating instructions for the remote control were not much better. But it sure does put out heat!!!
Pros: Quality, heating efficiency
Cons: Appearance, terrible instructions

I thought it was to be telescopic; NO! Secondly, the directions for puting it together were horrific. Incomplete and confusing. I would never have purchased two had I known the situations. The remote controls are a bit confusing as well. After all my purchases from Frontgate, this is my biggest disapointment.
frontgate, this was my biggest disappointment.
Pros: not sure yet.
Cons: not what it said it would be., very confusing to assemble, control is confusing.

Infared Heatger

I am surprise how little distance this heater emits. It is mostly only directly ahead and doesn't do anything out to the sides; therefore is unsuitable, I believe, for heating a table setting consisting of only a 36" table and four chairs. The heating element should be at least 3 and a half feet long. I would not reccomment this unit to anyone.

High Hopes...Disappointing Results

We had high hopes for this heater but the heat output is minimal and it is being returned. Living in Los Angeles, we thought that this system would be sufficient, but it barely puts out any heat and if a breeze kicks up, the small amount of heat disappears. It looks great and was fairly easy to assemble, but sadly disappointing in performance.

Love these heaters! We live in a rural area outside of the city and have gone "green" with solar power for our home. We purchased a few of these heaters for the inside of our house in order to save $ on our ridiculously high propane bill during the winter months. Thanks to these heaters, our home is stayin' toasty warm! Thanks Frontgate!
Pros: completely quiet, lightweight, perfect size, electric!!!!

Perfect Sunroom Purchase

We live right on the bank of Lake Erie and have a great all glass sunroom facing the lake for views and sunsets. This now enables us to use the room even with the frigid north wind blowing at us from Canada. We plan to use it for spring & fall warmth near our hot tub too! It is quiet and very efficient too.
Pros: Appearance, Durability, Quality, perfect for the sunroom

We would not recommend this product. We buy from Frontgate often, and have always been pleased by the quality of their items - sadly, this heater was a disappointing buying experience. The instructions were impossible to follow, the parts did not fit together - and after 4 hours we packed it up to return.

Not as Advertised

I bought this for my outdoor kitchen to extend the season. It was advertised that it was telescopic and it is stationary. It's very tall and since heat rises, and could not feel anything the heater was putting out. For it to be functional I have to figure out how to lower it, so I can feel the heat.

This heater is not effective in a windy area. If your outdoor patio is subject to lots of wind then get something else. It does an amazing job of heating in areas with no wind. Assembly instructions are poor but you can figure it out. We thought it might tip over in the wind but it did not.
Pros: Durability

I received the heater promptly and for 2 days it worked well and we very much enjoyed it. For some reason, it stopped working. We are now waiting for the replacement. Customer service was great and offered to send a new one immediately. That's great! Just wish it worked...

The infrared heater doesn't allow for lowering the adjustment, so my guests were only warm if they stood up by the element. In addition, it isn't very stable. I am disappointed in my purchase.
