These candles were just what I was looking for. After years of using un-matching plug in candles with bulbs that kept going out, I was looking for something new and easier to use. I had tried battery operated sensor candles that didn't work when there were lights on in the room. Although expensive, these candles were well worth it. The flame "flickers" and is very lifelike (especially from the outside when it is dark). The candle base is solid and hasn't been knocked over by kids, dogs, cats or party guests. I don't use the "timed" option because it's only 5 hours and I like to turn the candles on at dusk (4:30 ish) and 5 hours would turn them off too soon. I bought 9 candles this year for the windows in the front of the house and plan to buy more so I can have them in every window. I would highly recommend.
