I have really enjoyed this purchase. It's nice to have a dock for both the I-phone & I-pad. It's very user friendly, even for a non tech person like myself :)
The only drawback is that the clock doesn't dim very much (for night time) and is either pretty bright or off.

Will the iphone fit in the dock with a slim case
I have a case on my i-phone and it fits just fine.
