Even with the dimensions listed, the picture suggests that it is more tall than wide. It is boxy so there's room for a lot of bottles to be shown. Very well made and packed well, too! It's a conversation piece when we are gathered outdoors with friends!

How much beer does it hold?
We have put a case of beer in there easy! Could have put more in with a bigger crowd. And it stays cold for days!

how far does the top open?
It opens to a full 90 degrees and stays in place with side brackets. Not flimsy so no worry of it falling on top of your arms when reaching inside.
