We have a very large/long garland that hangs over our double front door of our custom home. Having just moved into a new home, we didn't want to damage the door surround (which, in AZ, is made of stucco). This product was a GREAT solution - it fit well, even though our frame has a round arch at the top, the fact that the hanger is straight across didn't detract at all. It takes a little time to find out what holes to use based on the size of your door, but we now have it marked with a magic marker for future years. Remember to pull DOWN to remove it after the end of the season - it's hard to tell which direction it's supposed to go, and we initially couldn't find the directions. But we love it - it's nicely made and complimented the look of our high end home. Very pleased and so thrilled I found this product - no need to install hardware into your door frame!

I am beyond pleased with this gate - it is perfect for our new custom home! The material is high quality with a beautiful finish, and it's extremely sturdy and barely slides at all, even though it's on hardwood floors. The walk-through gate is perfect, only improvement would be if the manufacturer would create a way for you to hold the gate open. You can "kind of' keep it open but it does still swing partially closed about 1/4 of the way. However, it stays open enough for my dog to walk through when I want him to be able to do so. It looks so sturdy, he doesn't even try to move it and I doubt he could. We were concerned because the preferred hallway area was narrower than the narrowest setting, but we were able to "overlap" the hallway wall at the end of the hallway, and so the size ended up working fine. I am so glad I purchased this product and absolutely love it! (husband grumbled alot putting it together, though - can be a little confusing to assemble)

Need a gate like this 50" wide. Do you have anything like this?
This gate expands to much wider than 50", as shown in the product description - my opening is wider than the 50" and works great!

Is this a freestanding unit?
I do not want to permanently install it.
Yes absolutely - I bought this gate a year ago and it does not "install" on the wall at all. In fact, I regularly pick it up and move it to an alternate area of my home. Nevertheless, it is very sturdy and keeps my enthusiastic border collie contained. He likes to put his paws up on the gate, and it is designed so it barely moves. I love it and it looks great!

I have an 84" opening. Can I buy 2 of these barriers and combine panels/pieces to fit the opening?
If you did, you would have the 11" side pieces sticking out in the middle of your gate. They would butt up against each other, and I suppose you could wire them together with a nice bronze-looking wire. I think it would function fine, but you definitely would have those sides in the middle of your gate. I own this one, and I have it spanning a 55" width. See pic and you will clearly see the side panels. LOVE the gate!

What length are the side returns of this and also it appears the gate can be on either side .. correct? Can the gate be in the middle also?
The side returns are exactly 11" long. We assembled ours about 11 months ago, but I don't "think" you can have the gate on either side. Also, the gate's placement depends on how much or how little you expand the gate. See my pic - mine is spanning a 55" width (with more room available), so it puts the gate more to the side). The gate will fall wherever it does, based on how wide you make the gate - it can't be changed. But this is an AMAZING product and we love it!!

I have a 45" opening, will this gate adjust to fit this width ??
Yes! I bought this exact gate and width a year ago and I use it for a 55" opening (and it looks like it could expand another foot beyond that). This is an incredible product, well worth the investment, and looks GREAT in our house!
